No one is too poor nor too rich to be called an artist. Furthermore, no one should allow anything to hinder them from becoming an artist.
Marvin Tiberio, an artist from Dahican, Mati, Davao Oriental, promotes organic painting and visualizes his arts through the use of squid ink and/or plants.
He encourages the use of nature to to create a wonderful masterpiece. You can look in the grasslands for colorful plants and wild flowers. But, what’s more interesting is his use of the squid’ ink.
Like most people, I also throw away squid ink not knowing that is is actually one of the best and strongest dyes ever.
Apart from squid ink, he also encourages you to use:
- Mud
- Soil
- House Charcoal
- Tree Bar
- Saw Dust
If you have no access to paint brushes too, you may use:
- Old Toothbrushes
- Fingers
- Combs
- Crumpled Papers
- Syringe (not medical)
- Sprayer
- Basin
- Strainer

Like his mantra; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” you can also do the same. Cheer up!
