Misamis Oriental is known for many things, but one of the recent tourist spots that have been buzzing is a white sandy strip called Agutayan White Island in Jasaan.
Agutayan White Island is a beach strip of white sand, same with the one in Kalanggaman. This has been flocked by tourists for the past few years now, and still a favorite tourist spot for Misamis locals. The island can be reached by boats for hire and at a reasonable price.
For the beaches, the island has a crystal-clear water, perfect for that much-needed summer dip. With a wide area and scenic background, most visitors make sure to take that Instagrammable shot while they are still at the island. The calm and gentle breeze in the area is also a plus for visitors.
Snorkeling is also one of the top suggested activities once you’re in the island, as Agutayan island offers lots of corals and other marine animals down there. Various types of fishes can be found, all available for all tourists to see.
For the food, it is advised to bring your own food as currently, there are no available restaurants or food stands in the strip. You can setup picnics while at the strip but tourists are strictly advised to keep their trash once they are done and throw it in proper bins.

HOW TO GET THERE:
Exact Location: Brgy. Jampason, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, Philippines
BY BOAT: Starting from Brfy. Jampason, Jasaan as your jump-off point, ride a boat bound to Agutayan White Island where boat for rent are available nearby. These rides cost around Php 1,500.00, back and forth, and good for 6 pax. It is advised to embark as early as 5AM to avoid the heat and the estimated travel time is 20 to 30 minutes per ride.
