Bukidnon is a province located in the very heart of Mindanao island. It boasts of an agriculture-centered economy with its terrain of forest mountains and sprawling mountain ranges. This highland province is named after the Visayan word “bukid” which aptly  translates to “mountain”. Due to its terrain, the province lacks beach attractions, but it compensates heavily on picturesque views perfect for camping, hiking, or a much-needed soul-searching!

Here are 7 (of the many!) attractions in this beautiful province!

1. DEL MONTE PINEAPPLE PLANTATION

Bukidnon is one of the country’s major producers of export-quality pineapples. One of the world’s largest pineapple plantations (25,000 hectares to be exact) can be found in Bukidnon so make sure to include this in your itinerary! The gateway to the plantation is at Camp Phillips, which serves as its center of operations and resembles a small town where housing is provided to their employees. You can roam around and buy pineapple products and delicacies. Two of the attractions here include the Del Monte Golf Course and Country Club, located a few kilometers from Camp Phillips. Along the way, you will pass through the plantation and see a vast expanse of pineapples!
