The first-ever University of Santo Tomas (UST) Campus in Mindanao had its Topping Off Ceremony for its main building in General Santos last Saturday, December 4, 2021.  

The said building which is a 76.78-hectare wide campus is set to finish in 2023.

The soon to rise six-story building will consist of the following departments: 

  • School of Business and Accountancy
  • School of Health and Sciences
  • School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences 
  • School of Engineering and Technology

This will have 77 classrooms, 25 laboratories, a school chapel, a cafeteria, a library, a clinic, an auditorium, a student organization room, and a three-function hall. 

Atop the building is a viewing deck that has a view of General Santos City. 

Once the building is set to go, UST-GenSan is expected to accommodate up to 15,000 students in its first 15 years.  

The event was attended by UST Rector Fr. Richard Ang, O.P., Facilities, and Management Office (FMO) director Fr. Dexter Austria, O.P, GenSan City Mayor Ronnel Rivera, and Abelardo Tolentino Jr., architect of the UST GenSan main building.
