Bukidnon is often lauded for its massive majestic mountains. The province is also frequented by hikers and mountaineers who come to challenge giants such as Dulang-Dulang or “D2” and Mount Kitanglad.

However, Bukidnon isn’t all about towering titans. One breathtaking beauty worthy of mention is Lawis Grand Canyon. Though it isn’t as tall as the others, there’s still nothing quite like these heavenly highland views!

Lawis Grand Canyon is a huge expanse of pristine nature preserve where you won’t see any buildings or buses for miles around. Instead, you get to witness the wide and serpentine Tagoloan River cut through untamed grasslands and forested plains.

Quite different from the looming mountains, the plateaus in the canyon provide a sense of comfort and security while being a lovely view for the eyes. Seriously, this vista is one you won’t get enough of.

The contrast between the flat plateaus and the sloping curves just draws you in, and the lush greenery makes the view so refreshing that it simply never gets old!

You’re free to go hiking or even camping up the plateaus or down in the plains. The combination of the views and the experience of being in touch with nature makes for a one-of-a-kind experience!

If you’re looking for a new adventure, or chasing after the next beautiful mountain view, make sure to stop at the Lawis Grand Canyon. Just keep in mind that there aren’t any developments or accommodations in the area yet.

The Grand Canyon is a nature preserve, meaning you’ll find yourself alone with pure, pristine, and untouched nature. If you’re planning to camp, it would be best to bring plenty of supplies as the highway is about 8 kilometers away.
