With a length of 1,700 meters, this esplanade has been attracting both local and foreign tourists in Iligan City.
The project began in 2019 but up to this date, the project is still basically in progress as improvement is continuously being done, with phase 2 of the project that started last February 2020.
With a budget of 68 million pesos, the esplanade was built by the LGU of Iligan City, particularly by the local DPWH in order to boost the tourism of the city as well as provide the Iliganons a public park where they can relax and de-stress while sight-seeing the nature.
Built with modern design, the Mandulog River Esplanade is built mainly with concrete bricks, modern lamp posts, modern benches and glass shades. The open area of the esplanade surely provides local sightseers a wide view of Iligan City’s famous Mandulog River.
Since it has been formally opened to the public last July 2021, it has been flocked by tourists. It was even made as a famous pit stop among motorcycle enthusiasts just to get a fresh air after a long ride.
The esplanade is also a good spot for jogging, where the open air is surely healthy for the lungs.
