Cagayan de Oro, the City of Golden Friendship, is the gateway of the Northern Mindanao. It is a place filled with must-visit tourist spots, either for relaxation or for an adventure.

In the 1990s, Cagayan de Oro’s center of entertainment was the Plaza Divisoria Amphitheater. It is popularly knows as the ‘Amphi’ and is getting a makeover.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has proposed a P76-million project for the beautification of the Amphi. The demolition of the existing structures was done in April of 2020 and is finally taken its shape and hopefully be finished real soon.

The proposed project looks exactly like the original design, but will be added with an open theater at the back. This open theater will be fronting the river in connection with the Project Lunhaw.

The new amphitheater includes the multi-level parking building, monument, office, footbridge and ramp structure, site development and utility works.

The new amphitheater is almost finished. You can check the photos below;
