The next time we go out for a coffee, let’s consider a place that doesn’t just give us premium coffee taste but a mesmerizing view too.
Paco View and Hillside Café in Brgy. Gatuslao, Candoni, is a popular coffee and hangout spot in Negros Occidental. Why would it not be? The place treats its visitors premium tasting coffee and other drinks plus a wide view of the rolling verdant hills and the clear skies. Here, every sip of coffee feels an inch closer to heaven.
We have witnessed in the past few years the rise of cafés nestled in the elevated parts of the country. They become instant hits, even boosting the tourism of the place where they are located. This can be attributed to the over-all sense of satisfaction that guests get every time they spend their time drinking their favorite drinks in the spots that offer magnificent overlooking view – rolling verdant hills, city lights, sea of clouds, name it, the feeling is the same.
Paco View and Hillside Café has all that it takes to make your side trip to this café worth it. Aside from drinking coffee, you can also take advantage of the different structures built at strategic areas within the place that serve as your backdrop and accessories for a photoshoot that slays. Striking a pose is something we just can’t dare not to do especially if the background radiates positive energy.
You can revisit with friends one of the fun things you had during your childhood – flying kites. Biking along the road is an exciting activity too. The place, by the way, also gives you the view of a long zigzag road passing through Barangay Candoni. If this doesn’t satisfy your fun weekend cravings yet, how about a picnic with your peers and probably an overnight camping too?
Just a few reminders, if you are planning to visit Candoni, please download the “StaySafe PH” app since it is one of the requirements before you can enter the town. Everyone is also obliged to observe health protocols set by the local and national government units to ensure the health and wellness of every guest.
For those who are fun of coffees, here’s a fun trivia: according to legends, the drink dates back to 800 A.D. Ninth-century goat herders noticed the effect caffeine had on their goats who appeared to “dance” after eating the fruit of the Coffea plant. A local monk then made a drink with the produce and found that it kept him awake at night, thus the original cup of coffee was born
