In August 2021, Davao Light completed its underground cabling activities along C.M. Recto Street from corner San Pedro Street to corner Ramon Magsaysay Avenue in Davao City.
This is part of the 2nd Underground Cabling Plan of the City Government of Davao with the City Ordinance 0152-17, Series of 2017 mandating Davao Light, all telecommunication companies, and other establishments to comply.
The first one was completed in 2016 in the vicinity of Davao City Hall and the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
The city aims to make city streets more visually appealing, safer, and better for customers with the electrical and telecommunication cables buried underground.
The project is expected to be completed in 2023 but will depend on the progress of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the road reconstruction of the affected areas.
