Container vans and house trucks are now a thing. Yes, we’ve seen all the amazing videos on tiktok of the DIY building and the house tours.
It has become everyone’s secret dream to build one or have one which with this article I can totally say that is very possible.
Victoria and Gerry Evangelista, a couple and business-partners as well, built their own tiny home out of two container vans. These container vans were just lying around in their facility in Davao so they decided to put it to good use.
Using 20- and 40-feet container vans, they’ve created their two-level tiny home with the following features:
- two bathrooms,
- two bedrooms
- outdoor kitchen
- a tiny pool
- balcony overlooking the wide patio
And just like that, they now have a bohemian-style tiny home made mostly with repurposed materials. Sharing and inspiring that it is possible to build a house without buying everything and actually saving costs by using recycled materials.
The project started last March 2021 and was finished in just over three months. In building a house, that is quite fast which is an advantage when using container vans. This way, it saves both time, energy and money.
The couple also stated that what’s important for them is to have their tiny home open for their friends, family, and employees to use.
“Dito na namin nilagay [ang tiny house] kaysa lumayo pa kami. Dito, pati yung mga empleyado namin nakakapag-enjoy sila na magbakasyon kahit nasa loob lang ng facility,” – Victoria
Recycling or repurposing is a great way to build your own home and help the environment as well by not wasting resources.
