Iloilo City is clearly taking the road to becoming the most livable city in the country with Colliers Philippines believing that Iloilo City is among the ideal locations for outsourcing companies outside Metro Manila. This only means that Iloilo City will continue to bloom as a viable residential investment location.

Colliers deals with commercial real estate brokerage and investment management for landlords, tenants, and investors which makes their assessment valid to some degree. They also stated that there was already a sustained demand for condominiums from overseas Filipino workers (OFW) this 2022.

Iloilo is already one of the most attractive property investment destinations. With its increasing economic and commercial activities going on in the city, residential will surely come next.

“Iloilo is really in for very exciting times. Tan-awa bala, because of the very good climate waay kita nagpasaka Real Property Tax (RPT) kag business taxes for the past three years. Subong nag-commit kita waay gyapon increase for the next three years so ang total six years. We did not increase RTP taxes but because of good fiscal management. Naka-generate kita P400 million for the surplus,”

– Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, Iloilo city mayor

The pandemic also didn’t hinder the growth of the city as the real estate business and business processing outsourcing (BPOs) remain very attractive to this day.

The resiliency of Iloilo city may be attributed to the cheaper and stable power rates, the residents’ full cooperation, and the dynamic participation of the business sector.

With clients and business owners seeing safety and trainable products in the city the mayor believes that it will increase real property tax revenues and endorses socialized housing.

The city government have also updated its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), serving spatial information, to attract more investors as zoning ensures the optimal use of land which is very critical in selecting project sites for business operations.

Business and residency go hand in hand in the boom of a city and Iloilo might just be the place to settle down to.
