The Davao City Government is promoting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Events) tourism as a key component of its recovery and growth strategy.
Now on its land preparation stage, the MICE Building will have meeting rooms, auditorium, theater, and events center. It is located beside the Davao City Investment Promotion Center Building at Palma Gil Street.
The new MICE Building is part of Davao City’s MICE Strategic Masterplan which will serve as a roadmap for the local government and the hospitality industry in terms of developing MICE programs, strategy, and infrastructure.
On March 4, the University of Sto Tomas College of Tourism and Hospitality Management handed over the MICE Masterplan to the City of Davao. On March 5, there was a masterplan orientation session.
Davao City’s new and upcoming events facilities, such as convention centers, coliseums, and hotels, will assist position the city as a top-of-mind MICE destination not only in the Philippines, but also in the BIMP-EAGA region (Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines-East Asean Growth Area).
