Ready your backpacks, wallets and vacation leaves everyone as Sagada is now open.

Finally, after 2 years you can now see the mountainous town of Sagada.

The famous town in the Cordillera Mountains, within the Philippines’ Mountain Province rejoice have opened their doors to accept fully vaccinated visitors after being closed to tourists starting 2020.

It was announced by the Department of Tourism itself and that Sagada has begun accepting visitor registrations on its online portal, Umali Kayo, which was launched in November.

Some of the many tourist spots that are just a must-see and must experience in Sagada are the Echo Valley’s hanging coffins displayed high on cliffs, centuries-old coffins stacked in burial sites like Lumiang Cave, Sumaguing Cave with its unusual limestone formations.

Aside from caves and coffins they also have beautiful natural sights like Bomod-ok Falls that has a natural swimming pool, the rice terraces carved into the area’s surrounding mountainsides and of course to be able to trek to the peak where you can shout your heart out.

For tourists planning to head up Sagada please present any of the following:

  • a negative rapid antigen test result performed 1 day prior and its official receipt, performed at a medical government office or a hospital
  • a negative RT-PCR swab result from a Department of Health-certified laboratory taken 48 hours before arrival
  • a negative RT-PCR saliva test result from the Philippine Red Cross taken 48 hours before arrival.
  • tourists may also opt to undergo a rapid antigen test at the Pegeo border for P960.

The QR confirmation code from the Umali Kayo portal will be presented upon arriving at the border. Don’t forget to bring and present your vaccination card and negative test result as well.

Tourists visiting Sagada will also have an orientation in the Tourism Hub, where they will receive a tourist kit before they can check in.
