The city of Davao will be once again filled with color and festivities in celebration of the annual Kadayawan Festival, also known as “The King of Festivals!”

From August 8, the city will begin the Kadayawan Festival as it hits its 39th year! From the history of its indigenous people, its diverse traditions, and the lush beauty of the region, attendees of the festival will surely be embraced by the rich heritage of Davao.

Kicking off the festivities will be the Kadayawan Village Tour on the 8th of August, at 3PM, followed by the Opening Ceremony for the event. Expect to see a grand display of traditional dances, colorful costumes, and mouthwatering local cuisine all throughout the city.

The next days of the festival will be a showcase of talents from different organizations and chorale groups at the “Pasundayag sa Kadayawan: A Chorale and Musical Showcase” to be held on August 9, 2024 from 6PM to 8PM at the City Hall.

Although there are still tons of activities to be held for the festival, such as the grand “Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan,” one of the most awaited is the “Hiyas sa Kadayawan 2024” where 11 candidates will vye for the esteemed title and crown of the competition.
