New Carbon Market

Carbon was known in the past as the cheapest wet market in the island. However, a recent project transformed the place and brought it on par with some of the famous malls in Cebu. The commonly known place for its dirty and chaotic streets has now been modernized and beautified. One of the place’s main attractions is the newly built The Barracks.

The Barracks is well-famed for its variety of local food choices from the well-known tuslob-buwa to other Filipino and Cebuano delicacies. The foods within the place are rather cheap too, which is friendly for people who want to wander but are tight on budget.

Malls along in SRP

Traditionally, malls can mostly be found in the heart of the Metro. However, as time went by, mall developers are starting to build southward of the island. Hence, we can now see mall establishments in the south of Cebu; most of which are high-end and mostly target the higher income tax bracket of the region.

In the south, we can find Nustar, a luxury shopping destination which is also a resort at the same time. There, you can find internationally acclaimed brands that are infamously known for their absurd prices.

Going southward, we can then see a branch of one of the biggest mall chains here in the country. Under SM Prime Holdings, SM Seaside displays its grandeur among the southern beauties of Cebu. This is a mall which houses middle-class to high-end brands which makes them more friendly to customers.

Lastly, going even further south, we can then see Il Corso. A lifestyle destination which specializes with shopping and dining experience. This mall is also considered a luxury shopping district.

CCLEX

The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway commonly known as CCLEX is an 8.9-kilometer toll bridge connecting Cebu City to Cordova. The bridge is newly built, with its groundbreaking in 2017 and its eventual completion in 2022. The above-ground pathway is famously known for its superb roads and amazing sunset views. However, the bridge is also famous as a path for people who like to jog and do short sprints, since the bridge offers a sidewalk. A rather rare feature for a busy expressway. Currently, the admin of the bridge is planning to construct a dining place on the bridge for the passing passenger vehicles.

Bookchigo Lapu Lapu

A newly opened bookstore here in Cebu. The bookstore is famously known for its by-kilo payment for books, a huge bargain for certified bookworms here in Cebu. The store currently offers a wide array of book choices from famous books like Game of Thrones to other obscure books targeting a niché market. The bookstore apparently sells their books in two ways: the retail price or books per kilo.
