It’s great to see foreigners shuffling around the beaches and having a good time, but it can be quite the ordeal when you’re met with too many people trying to find a good spot to relax when there are so many doing the exact same thing you are. That is why we are going to talk about one of the hidden gems in the world of beaches: Hinugtan Beach.

How to Get to Hinugtan Beach

As the beach is located in Aklan, the province where Boracay Island lives, a beautiful white sand beach is assured! Hinugtan Beach is just snuggled in the north-western part of Aklan and is an hour’s worth of trekking from National Highway 503. If you’re down for a nature walk just before getting to the beachside, then this is the perfect route for you.

The tourist-recommended method of venturing to the beach is via boat from Boracay Island. As Boracay has an airport, it’s considerably easier to travel there first before hiring a boat to take you to Hinugtan Beach in mainland Aklan. The boat ride takes about 45 minutes!

Amenities

Aside from the family-run restaurants and inns, the beach generally does not have any establishments that other beaches might have. But for some, this might be where the appeal comes from! There is no reliable cell coverage in the area, so those looking for a disconnect from the rest of society would love it here.

If you’re the type to prefer a luxurious experience when beachgoing, there are some cottages and inns scattered just around the beachside. Being able to observe these families live their daily lives in this condition is a true gem. It is advised to prepare camping equipment and to bring your own provisions as you might not like the food being served in the restaurants and such!

Hinugtan Beach is the perfect getaway for those looking for a true nature experience: no phones, no WiFi, no hotels, and nature all around! If you and your group are up to the challenge, then this is a great trip idea to reconnect with nature and be truly living in the moment.
