As the Philippines is constantly ravaged by typhoons and storms, it’s very important to heed PAGASA’s weather updates and warnings to address any and all situations wherein disaster preparedness is key. Be safe, everyone

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a weather bulletin detailing conditions above some of the country’s major regions.

The Caraga and Davao regions will be experiencing cloudy weather, with scattered rains and thunderstorms. The rest of Mindanao, as well as Visayas and Luzon, will experience varying weather patterns. This is all due to a low-pressure area (LPA) slowly approaching the country, as mentioned by the bulletin posted on 4 AM, February 28, 2024.

PAGASA advises residents in the Caraga and Davao regions to exercise caution and disaster preparedness, as the weather bulletin emphasizes flash floods, landslides, and thunderstorms. Moderate to heavy rains are also expected to occur in the area, due to the trough of a low pressure area being in the vicinity.

The rest of Mindanao island will experience ‘partly cloudy to cloudy skies,’ with isolated rains or thunderstorms caused by easterlies, which are winds with components coming generally from the east. PAGASA advises residents to be careful, as the weather can abruptly change, as we all know.

Regarding Visayas and Luzon, the Northeast Monsoon, or ‘amihan,’ will bring about partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers, with the same being true for Cagayan Valley and Aurora. PAGASA issues the same cautionary warning to these regions.

Moderate to strong winds pointing northeast to east are expected in Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao. For the rest of Mindanao island, light to moderate winds pointing northeast are to be expected.

PAGASA provides the following temperature forecasts for the following major cities and regions:

  • Metro Manila: 22°C to 32°C
  • Baguio City: 14°C to 24°C
  • Laoag City: 21°C to 33°C
  • Legazpi City: 24°C to 30°C
  • Metro Cebu: 25°C to 31°C
  • Puerto Princesa City: 25°C to 32°C
  • Metro Davao: 24°C to 30°C

As the Philippines is constantly ravaged by typhoons and storms, it’s very important to heed PAGASA’s weather updates and warnings to address any and all situations wherein disaster preparedness is key. Be safe, everyone!
