Not too long ago, Gabunan Falls began catching the attention of curious travelers drawn to Samar’s wild and beautiful landscapes.

Located within thick forest, the falls spill into a clear, refreshing basin framed by rock and jungle greens. It’s peace, raw, and completely detached from the noise of town life, a perfect escape for anyone craving quiet nature and cold mountain water.

How to Get There?

Location: Bihid River, Maydolong, Eastern Samar, Philippines
- By Car: Drive from the nearest town toward the interior roads leading into the Samar Island Natural Park. Roads can be partially rough and narrow, so a high-clearance vehicle or motorbike is recommended. Follow local signage or ask nearby barangays for the path to the jump-off point, where a short foot trail leads to the falls.
- By Commute: Take a jeepney or van from your town to the nearest barangay accessing the SINP interior. From there, hire a habal-habal (motorbike taxi) to bring you to the jump-off area. Expect a brief walk through forested pathways before reaching the falls’ cool and quiet basin.
