
Amandaraga Falls is a tall and majestic waterfall in Eastern Samar’s Watershed Forest Reserve. Standing around 80 meters high, Amandaraga Falls flows gracefully from towering cliffs into a calm, deep basin. Locals near the area claim that you can still feel the presence of a maiden dwelling spirit that protects the falls named “Daraga.”

Rich Ecosystem and Protected Watershed

The Bolusao Watershed Forest Reserve spans more than 4,000 hectares that includes this waterfall. It is home to a wide range of indigenous plants and animals, such as tarsiers and endemic birds, and is one of Lawaan’s most important water sources.

How To Get There?
Location: Barangay Bolusao, Lawaan, Eastern Samar, Mindanao, Philippines
- By Car: Drive east on the Maharlika Highway (Route 1) toward Eastern Samar after starting in Tacloban City. A 3 hour drive that is about 120 km is to be expected. Once you are in Lawaan, proceed to the jump off locations for the falls, Barangay Bolusao or Guinob-an. Ask locals to lead you to Amandaraga or rent a habal-habal.
- By Commute: Take a bus or UV Express van from Tacloban bound for Guiuan or Borongan. The fare is around ₱150.00 to ₱200.00. The travel time is approximately hours. Get off at Lawaan town proper, then ride a tricycle or habal-habal to Brgy. Guinob‑an or Bolusao jump‑off point. From there, a 15 to 20 minute walk or short hike leads to the falls.
