How to Get There

Exact Location: Carles, Iloilo, Philippines

  • By Car: Head north from Iloilo City and drive for about 3–4 hours to reach the municipality of Carles. The route is relatively straightforward, just use navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps and pin “Bancal Port, Carles.” From there, you’ll hop on a boat that takes you to Bantigue Sandbar. If you’re renting a car, make sure it’s comfy, because this road trip comes with a splash of island adventure at the end.
  • By Commute: From Iloilo City, take a Ceres bus bound for Estancia or Carles (available at Tagbak Terminal). Travel time is approximately 4–5 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Ask to be dropped off at Bancal Port in Carles. From the port, you can join an island-hopping tour or charter a boat heading to Bantigue Sandbar. Don’t forget your sun hat, this trip ends in total sun-kissed bliss.

The locals take good care of Bantigue, so visitors are encouraged to do the same. Bring your trash with you and leave only footprints behind.
