The Cambais Falls is located in the southern part of Cebu and has become one of the province’s most spectacular and eye-catching natural attractions. The complex feature of the waterfall is turquoise pools perfect for a dip and cliff-jumping activity, but without any crowds. Its two-tiered waterfall offers tourists and locals an adventure and scenery that make it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and those who enjoy taking pictures against the serene backdrop. For those seeking an authentic destination, this place is a must.

Water You Waiting For

The first level of the falls features a milky-blue pool surrounded by limestone cliffs that reach up to 10 meters in height. Those who prefer to stay grounded can explore the natural caves along the water’s edge. A bamboo staircase leads to the second level, where the water is much cooler and calmer, providing a perfect setting for those who want a peaceful swim. The natural wonders remain accessible to different types of travellers.

Spill the History

For years, Cambais Falls remained known only to locals, its beauty preserved by its remote location about an hour from Moalboal and 30 minutes south of the more commercialized Kawasan Falls. The absence of heavy development has maintained its raw, untouched charm. There are no significant signs, souvenir shops, or crowds to be seen here. The short but adventurous trek to the falls through jungle paths only adds to the sense of discovery, making the first glimpse of those stunning turquoise waters all the more rewarding.

Chill Gets Real

During the weekdays, the place offers an experience where visitors might share the falls only with local children playing in the water. Natural ropes and carved pathways are visible, helping adventurers navigate the different levels safely. The dry season, from March to May, provides ideal conditions for swimming and cliff jumping, with the water in its best condition. At this time, the annual Lapyuhan festival, located nearby in San Remigio, offers an additional itinerary for those who wish to extend their stay.

How To Get There

Exact Location: Alegria, Southern Cebu

  • By Car: If you have a vehicle, from Cebu City, take the South Coastal Road and head toward Alegria, about a 3 to 4-hour drive depending on traffic. Use Google Maps or Waze, and set your destination to “Cambais Falls” in Alegria. Once you get to the area, park near a small bridge with hanging trees. From the parking area, follow the weathered trail sign, then trek for around 15 minutes to reach the falls.
  • By Commute: Starting in Cebu South Bus Terminal, bound for Bato via Barili. Tell the conductor to drop you off at Alegria proper or nearest to Cambais Falls. From there, ride a habal-habal to the jump-off point near the bridge. Then just follow the signs and enjoy the short hike!

Cambais Falls represent everything magnificent about the natural wonders found in Cebu. Where breathtaking beauty, thrilling activities, and a connection with nature converge, its twin cascades of blue waters create a picturesque scene that seems unreal. The forest surrounding it creates a peaceful and serene atmosphere, perfect for seclusion.
