Reaching the summit of Mt. Kafoc is no small feat, especially for someone like me who had been unwell and recently quarantined. The hike, which takes approximately 3 hours, can be challenging but is manageable for both beginners and seasoned hikers with moderate fitness. The trail winds through lush forests and rocky terrains, making the final view from the peak all the more rewarding.

Finding Gratitude at the Summit

While setting up tents and gears at the newly developed campsite near the peak, I felt a surge of gratitude. The beauty surrounding me was overwhelming, enough to bring me to tears, though I tried to hide them from my companions. Standing there, I silently thanked the Almighty for the simple yet profound privileges of life, travel, nature, friendship, and the freedom to pursue my passions. Moments like these make life feel meaningful and purposeful.
