Timako Hill rises modestly above Cotabato City at around 197 meters with one of its only two preserved elevations offering a lush sanctuary for wildlife and wonder. Steeped in folklore and ecological mystery, this quiet retreat invites trekkers and culture lovers alike to explore its hidden paths.

A Climb Through Nature and Lore

Every step of the routes that weave through mangroves, old trees, caverns, and springs on the way to Timako Hill is resonant with tales of engkanto and diwata who are supposed to protect the land. In addition to being a trekker’s paradise, its steep, rocky slope serves as a warning to tread carefully amid rumors of the paranormal.
Sanctuary of Wildlife and Serenity

Expect to see abundant biodiversity along the way including fruit bats emerging from shadowy caverns, native birds singing from foliage, and monkeys scurrying among branches. Timako Hill is Cotabato’s haven. It is a place to relax, think, and feel rooted with few tourists and lots of greenery.
How To Get There?
Location: Barangay Kalanganan II, Cotabato City, Maguindanao, Mindanao, Philippines
- Via Car: From Cotabato City, drive northeast along Jose Lim Sr. for about 3.5 km. Then turn right onto Alamada Road. Continue for approximately 5 km, you’ll continue to see signs pointing to Timako Hill. Drive for another 10 minutes until you reach the designated parking area near the hill.
- Via Commute: From Cotabato City Bus Terminal, take a jeepney or bus heading toward Alamada. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction to Timako Hill that is near Barangay Kalanganan II. From there, you can take a tricycle or a habal-habal or walk about 10 to 15 minutes to the Timako Hill’s entrance.
