Kalilangan Festival

It commemorates the arrival of the city’s first Christian settlers, led by General Paulino Santos in 1939, marking the city’s foundation. This festival celebrates the coexistence of Christians, Muslims, and Blaans and features parades, street dancing, dance contests, traditional games, agricultural fairs, concerts, and various cultural events. The name “Kalilangan” is derived from the Maguindanaon term “kalilang,” which translates to “celebration” or “commemoration.” The festival is celebrated from February 23 to 27.
