Welcome to the waters of Alegria, where fascinating statues stand sentinel. That’s right! The depths are home to remarkable figures, including Greek deities like Poseidon and Medusa, as well as Buddha, a Knights Templar, and Mother Mary.

How Did They Get There?

How in the world were these statues put there in the first place? Well, their origins remain somewhat mysterious. Some believe that locals created the statues to deter intruders and protect Alegria’s thriving ecosystem. Over time, these remarkable sculptures were rediscovered, transforming into popular diving spots for both amateur and professional divers alike.

Exact Location: Santander, Barili, Toledo Rd, Alegria, Philippines

  • By Bus: Head to the South Bus Terminal in Cebu City and take a bus bound for Alegria or Badian. The ride takes about 3-4 hours. Let the driver know you’re heading to Alegria Dive Resort, and they’ll drop you off nearby.
  • By Car: If you prefer driving, you can rent a car and take the Cebu South Road. The drive is scenic and takes approximately 3 hours, depending on traffic.
  • Once you arrive in Alegria, the resort is located in Barangay Sta. Filomena. It’s always a good idea to contact the resort directly for specific directions or assistance.
