How To Get There?

Location: Barangay Cambaro, Macrohon, Southern Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines

  • Via Car: From Tacloban City, drive southwest on the Maharlika Highway to reach Macrohon town proper. Upon arrival in Macrohon, ask locals for directions to “Cambaro Cave” or “Cambaro Caves.” The cave is located in Barangay Cambaro which is approximately 20 to 30 minutes away from the town proper. You can hire a tricycle or habal-habal to take you to the trailhead. The trailhead is accessible via a hillside road. From there, it’s a short trek into the woods to reach the cave. There’s informal parking available at the trailhead.
  • Via Commute: Take a van or bus bound for Macrohon from Tacloban City, which usually takes about 2 to 3 hours and costs around ₱150.00 to ₱200. Once in Macrohon town proper, hire a tricycle or habal-habal to take you to the Cambaro Cave trailhead in Barangay Cambaro. The ride lasts about 20 to 30 minutes and typically costs ₱100–₱150. From the trailhead, prepare for a short trek into the woods to reach the cave entrance, where cool shade and quiet await.
