Fun fact: The Lotus flower in South Cotabato, particularly seen on the Lake of Sebu, belongs to a genus Nelumbo which is referred to as a sacred lotus or an Indian Lotus (Nelumbo nuciferia), the flower features with vibrant pink flowers and with its white blooms on the side, which thrives in a calm water of the lake such as the Lake Sebu. Locals as well as settlers likely introduced the lotuses to Lake Sebu for ornamental or cultural purposes, and they thrived in the lake’s ideal conditions, becoming a key part of its ecosystem and tourism appeal.

- By Bus
- From General Santos City, head over to the Yellow Bus Terminal and catch a bus to Marbel (Koronadal City)—it’s about an hour’s drive.
- When you get to Marbel’s bus station, hop on another Yellow bus heading to Surallah, which should take less than an hour.
- Once you’re in Surallah, grab a van or jeep to Lake Sebu—it’s just a 30-minute ride from there.
