“I see dead people”

College horror stories can be pretty scary; from the ghostly apparitions in the hallways to poltergeist activities, every campus has its own spine-tingling tales.
We had a chance to interview a few students from Mindanao who shared their own experiences. Just remember: Before you proceed to read each one, make sure to turn on the lights:
Chapter One: The Student with No Face

Hauntings often manifest when ghosts or otherworldly entities demand attention, typically by revealing their eerie presence. In a secluded corner of Mindanao, there exists a college department that left one staff member in a state of paralyzing shock. As the guard patrolled the dimly lit hallways, he caught sight of a female student wandering aimlessly in the middle of the night. He called out to her, but she ignored him, continuing her ghostly stroll until she vanished through a locked door on the last floor. Panic surged within him as he reported the incident to his supervisor, only to receive a chilling response: “Just leave her alone; she is not one of us.” It was at that moment he realized that he had encountered something that belonged to another realm.
Chapter Two: Possession in the Catholic School

Possession is a dark form of paranormal activity that can seize a person’s mind and body, leaving them vulnerable and tormented. Those with strong willpower and those who are weak alike can find themselves at the mercy of malevolent spirits. In another high school in Mindanao, a student experienced a terrifying descent into possession. She was plagued by a recurring nightmare of being chased by a suffocating black mist. As the days passed, the weight of this dark presence drained her spirit until she could no longer fight it.
Chapter Three: Epilogue, The Unfinished Prayer

The scene of possession happened in a Catholic school classroom, disturbing the lives of everyone present. Our eyewitness, one of the students who held the possessed girl down, described the chaos. “Many of us surrounded her, trying to help, while others recited prayers. But no one could finish. The words got stuck in her throat; she kept repeating the opening lines of the “Our Father,” unable to complete it. It was as if something was holding on to her soul.” A seasoned exorcist eventually intervened, casting out the darkness that had held her. Afterward, the girl lived in peace, but the memory of that night lingered, a chilling reminder of what could emerge from the shadows.
Some of us may experience this kind of event, and the best thing to do is be strong and always remember that light can always triumph over darkness.
