Prevention is better than cure…

On May 29, 2025, the Davao City Hall of Justice brought back a familiar policy: NO FACE MASK, NO ENTRY! A memorandum has been released mandating all clients and visitors to wear face masks inside the premises.

This move comes in response to the recent MPOX (Monkeypox) outbreak in the area, prompting stricter preventive measures to keep both employees and the public safe.
Whether you’re heading to court, processing legal documents, or dropping by for appointments, be sure to wear a mask before entering. The policy applies to everyone; no exemptions noted in the current memo.

While many have grown comfortable without masks, especially with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions over the past years, health officials are urging the public to stay vigilant. MPOX Symptoms include fever, rash, and swollen lymph nodes. It’s contagious and spreads through close contact, so it’s best to play it safe.
As of May 30, 2025, Davao City has reported a total of six confirmed MPOX cases. The initial two cases were identified in April, with one resulting in a fatality due to complications. The four recent cases are currently in stable condition and are under isolation at the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
