Nothing with reaching the age of 60! You actually can get benefits here in the Philippines, just follow the steps below and enjoy the benefits of reaching a new age!

Obtain  a Senior Citizen Card

You can start by visiting the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs in your respective municipality or city. 

What to bring?

  • Bring your birth certificate
  • A valid ID (showing your date of birth)
  • Proof of residency
  • 1-2 recent 1×1 or 2×2 ID Photos

Register with OSCA 

  • Obtain and complete the application form with accurate details 
  • Prepare necessary documents 
  • Submit the application
  • Wait to be notified to claim your ID and purchase booklet for discounts

Enjoy the Benefits

  • Present your ID: when purchasing goods or services that offer discounts or exemptions
  • VAT Exemption: Value Added Tax (VAT) is also exempted on eligible purchases.
  • Transportation Discount:  Discounts are available on bus, air, and sea travel
  • PhilHealth Benefits: Senior Citizens are also entitled to PhilHealth benefits (if already a member) which can be availed once presented with an ID and Member Data Record (MDR) 
  • Social Pension: Indigent senior citizens may also  be entitled to a monthly stipend from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 
  • Expanded Centenarian Program: To Those individuals who reach 100 years old or more are eligible for a cash gift from the government.

Things to Remember:

  • 20% discount: Senior citizens are entitled to a 20% on certain goods and services
  • Always check for specific requirements: Some establishments may have additional requirements, such as a purchase booklet or authorization letter for representatives.
  • Priority lanes in establishments and government offices.
  • Exemption from government fees and charges
  • 5% discount on basic commodities (limited quantities weekly)
