A popular hiking spot in Toril, Davao City, Viper’s Peak is renowned for its breath-taking view and gentle terrain. The 2.6 mile out-and-back track is appropriate for both novice and expert hikers due to its variety of terrain which includes rocky trails, gravel, and muddy sections. For outdoor enthusiasts, the hike is a wonderful experience that usually takes 1 to 2 hours to finish.

The trail begins at Lantaw Banud Café and leads hikers through various terrains including grasslands and mango plantations. The final stretch involves an uphill climb culminating at the summit where hikers are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding area. The trail is well maintained and frequented by locals making it a safe and enjoyable hike.

How To Get There?

Location: Toril, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines

  • Via Car: From downtown Davao City, drive south via MacArthur Highway toward Toril. The trip usually takes 45 minutes to an hour depending on the traffic conditions. Once in Toril, follow the local road signs or navigate using Google Maps or Waze to reach the barangay nearest to the jump off point. Parking is typically available in nearby residential areas or at designated spots arranged by locals.
  • Via Commute: From downtown Davao City, head to the Ecoland Terminal and board a bus or jeepney bound for Toril. Travel time is about 30 to 40 minutes. Once you reach Toril, ride a tricycle or habal-habal to the designated jump off point for Viper’s Peak. Some habal-habal drivers in the area are familiar with hikers’ destinations so simply mention “Viper’s Peak” and they can take you directly to the starting trail.
