
The Mangrove Eco Park is located in Ormoc City’s Barangay Naungan, a place where community and ecology coexist peacefully. A peacefull embrace of mangrove woods that is guided tours and local livelihood have all taken place there since its establishment in 2017. Away from the bustle of the metropolis, this living paradise combines tranquility, community spirit, and conservation in one lush area.

Nature and Community Unite

The park stands as a testament to sustainable ecotourism, steered by the Naungan San Juan Mangrove Planters Association (NSJMPA) and local fishermen. Beyond mangrove tours, visitors can enjoy bird watching, kayak or paddleboat rides, fishing, mudflat walks, and even tree planting all while savoring freshly cooked seafood by the shore.
A Sanctuary for Biodiversity and Resilience

Covering part of the Naungan San Juan Mangrove Reserve, this ecopark is rooted in deep rehabilitation efforts. Spanning over 171 hectares, the reserve includes a bird sanctuary, saltwater inlets, and shoreline areas, and reflects years of community and DENR led restoration work shifting from simple replanting to mindful species selection like Avicennia and Sonneratia.

Location: Barangay Naungan, Ormoc City, Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines
- Via Car: From Ormoc City, drive approximately 10 minutes which is only around 5 km to Barangay Naungan. Use navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Ormoc Mangroves Eco-park.”
- Via Commute: From Ormoc City, ride a jeepney or taxi heading to Barangay Naungan. Get off at the last stop near the hanging bridge that connects Purok Kintolimbo.
