The name “Panaraga” hails from a fascinating encounter. Centuries ago, traders from Ponorogo in East Java anchored nearby forging connections with the locals. As goodwill grew anchored in lessons on farming and self defense the beach was named Panaraga that echoes its historical ties.

How To Get There?
Location: Barangay Gamut, Barobo, Surigao del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines
- Via Car: From Bayugan City, drive to Barobo which takes 1 hour. Once in Barobo, continue toward Barangay Gamut. Follow the signs or ask locals in the area for “Panaraga Beach”.
- Via Commute: Take the Ecoland Davao City Overland Transport Terminal, ride the bus or a van bound for Butuan City to Barobo which takes approximately 2 hours. Get off at Barobo, then take a tricycle or a habal-habal to reach Panaraga Beach.
