Placed in Barangay Tangkaan is the Mahaba beach. It is located next to Padre Burgos town in Southern Leyte. Considered to be a serene stretch of white sand and clear waters. It is less crowded, totally chill, and ideal for a peaceful nature getaway.

You won’t find many amenities, such as beach bars or cabins, but you may bring your own equipment and take advantage of adjacent hiking and snorkeling opportunities. The atmosphere is subtly green and uncommercialized.
How To Get There?
Location: Barangay Tangkaan, Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines
- Via Car: Drive south on the Maharlika Highway toward Padre Burgos from Tacloban City or Maasin City. To get to Barangay Tangkaan, follow the signs from Padre Burgos town which is about 3 miles. Although not official, parking is typically accessible close to the entrance.
- Via Commute: Travel to Maasin City or Padre Burgos by bus or UV Express van which costs around ₱150.00 to ₱200.00. Take a habal-habal or tricycle from Padre Burgos Town Plaza to Barangay Tangkaan. The beach is reached by a set of concrete steps.
