How To Get There?
Location: Barangay Elevado, Matalom, Leyte, Philippines
- By Car: If you’re driving from Ormoc, head south via the Baybay–Inopacan–Hindang–Matalom Road, a well-paved coastal route that takes roughly 2.5 hours. Once in Matalom proper, follow local signboards toward Barangay Elevado or use Google Maps for pin guidance. Parking is limited, so it’s best to park near the barangay road and walk a short distance to the cave.
- By Commute: From Ormoc City, take a van or bus bound for Matalom (around three hours). Once in town, hire a habal-habal (motorbike taxi) to Barangay Elevado and ask to be dropped off near Hitoog Cave. The ride takes about 15–20 minutes through scenic local roads, and locals can easily guide you to the site.
