What to Bring

Bring sturdy footwear, a flashlight or headlamp if planning to hike early or descend at dusk, enough water, snacks, and some extra layers because the weather can shift. The campsite has basic facilities, comfort rooms, showers, a small shop, and cottages or tents for rent. Trails can be muddy in rainy weather, and some parts going to the peak are steep so prepare accordingly.

How To Get There?
Location: Tayasan, Negros Occidental, Visayas, Philippines
- By Car: From Dumaguete City, drive north heading to Tayasan town proper. From there, head towards Barangay Pinocawan and follow the local road leading to Sitio Carayan-on which serves as the jump off point to Mt. Kampanulong. A private vehicle is ideal since access roads to the sitio may be rough and narrow.
- By Commute: From Dumaguete City, take a Ceres bus or a van bound for Tayasan. Get off at Tayasan town proper. This takes around 4 to 5 hours. From Tayasan, ride a habal-habal going to Sitio Carayan-on, Barangay Pinocawan which will bring you to the jump off point. The habal-habal ride takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the terrain and weather.
