What Makes Ocam Ocam Special

Here the appeal is in the simplicity. There are guesthouses and resorts right on the beach but no big malls, no barking crowds, often no cell reception at night. It’s just you, the sea, the sand, maybe a hammock, and the sky putting on its show. Also, it’s a great base for island hopping, namely the Black Island is just a short boat ride away plus smaller islets you can explore.

Things To Bring and Things To Know

Bring sun protection, mosquito repellent, enough cash, and maybe a flashlight. The road gets rough in places and facilities are basic. Accommodations are limited to some huts or beach bungalows, guesthouses, and a resort. Book ahead if you want comfort. For truly rustic, you can bring your own tent.

If you’re into quiet beaches, good snorkeling, and nights under unpolluted skies, Ocam Ocam delivers. It may not have the full tourist infrastructure but that’s its charm. For a trip that lets you slow down, reflect and get in touch with nature, this is one of Palawan’s hidden treasures.
