Along the main coastal road of Siargao lies one of the island’s most photographed sights: the Coconut Plantation Viewpoint near Maasin River. Endless rows of coconut trees stretch across rolling land, forming a natural canopy that frames the road below. It is free to visit, easy to stop by, and often included in island road trips.

From the elevated roadside curve, visitors get a wide view of the plantation, with the palms creating clean lines that photographers love.

Golden Hour Views

Early mornings from 6 to 8 a.m. and late afternoons from 4 to 6 p.m. bring out the best light. Sun rays filter through the palm leaves, giving the road and trees a soft glow. This is also when the area feels calmer, with fewer vehicles passing by.

Local Feel

Small stalls often appear near the viewpoint, selling fresh buko and simple snacks. Locals rest here during breaks, while travelers pause for quick photos. It is not a formal tourist site, but that adds to its charm.

This is an active road, so stay alert to passing vehicles. Step off the pavement when taking photos and avoid blocking traffic. For aerial shots, make sure drone use follows local rules and respects nearby communities.
