Driving Innovation
VSU topped other universities with impressive achievements in technology development and intellectual property generation. Researchers commercialized 70 technologies and secured 71 intellectual property rights between 2020 and 2024. These innovations have brought measurable impact to communities and local enterprises.
Empowering Communities
The university’s research programs directly benefited 26 local enterprises and startups. Groups like Five Shepherds and Fatima Multipurpose Cooperative successfully applied VSU-developed technologies. Collectively, these ventures generated over ₱19 million in income for the region.
Research to Policy
VSU also turned research into actionable policies. The Good Agricultural Practices Policy launched in 2024 guides science-based agriculture in Eastern Visayas. This bridges the gap between laboratory discoveries and farmers in the field.
Building Partnerships
Collaboration fuels VSU’s research ecosystem. The university forged 170 partnerships, including 65 international and 105 national linkages. Over ₱770 million funded research, while ₱300 million went into state-of-the-art facilities like the Biotechnology and Livestock Research Centers.
