Picture a tall waterfall over a cliff inside a forest clearing, calm pools and a characteristic bend, that’s the magical Can-umantad falls!
Located in Brgy. Cadapdapan Candijay, this bewitching waterfall is like something straight from a fantasy movie. Can-umantad is the regarded as the tallest waterfall in Bohol at 60 feet high. It was aptly named after its height (can-uman, meaning 60).
The mesmerizing motion of the water flowing down the captivating cascades will surely enchant you and make you lose your senses!
The area around the waterfall is secluded and surrounded by dense, flourishing foliage and a thicket of flush trees. During the rainy season, the stream gets stronger and a mist constantly envelops the bottom of the falls.
It’s pretty easy to lose track of time and direction because everything about the falls is just so mystical.
Can-umantad falls’ main cascade brings water in from the Cadapdapan river and streams it down to a shallow rocky basin. In the first cascade, milky waters contrast the earthen colors of the cliff and the verdant greenery of the surrounding forest, making an alluring image that’s hard to look away from.
Just a few meters downstream is the lower cascade. This secondary waterfall is only 10 feet high, but drops to a circular pool. The water is a deep green with shallows made of sloping rocks. Thanks to the cold water and the surrounding forest, this spot is perfect for a quick refreshing dip!
The magic of Can-umantad falls is definitely something every nature lover should get to experience firsthand. And with the Cadapdapan Rice Terraces just above the waterfall, you can get to visit two wonders of nature in one trip!
