Kyxz Mendiola of the Philippines set the world record for the farthest hoverboard flight with an air distance flight of 2,894 meters over the beach front of Subic Bay, Zambales, Philippines today, 10 July 2021.
Surpassing the world record of French jet skier, Franky Zapata used the Flyboard Air powered by jet engine propulsion, with an air distance flight of 2,252 meters in April 2016.
Mendiola also broke the record of Canadian inventor, Catalin Alexandru Duru’s propeller-based hoverboard that travelled approximately 275 meters that gained him a Guinness World Records title for farthest flight by a hoverboard in May 2015.
Mendiola achieved said feat using the Star 8 Green Technology Corporation (Star 8)’s Flying electric Hoverboard (e-Hoverboard).
Mendiola, aside from becoming the newest world record holder, is also the innovator of the Philippines’ first-ever flying electric car (e-car).
In 2019, Mendiola partnered with Star 8 to further improve his flying e-car concept through Star 8’s innovative green technology.
To date, Mendiola and Star 8 continue to improve the version of the Philippines’ first-ever flying e-car now known as the Electric Manned Aerial Vehicle (EMAV).
Aside from having 1-seater and 2-seater models, the EMAV will also have a 4-seater version.
Star 8 aims to become the country’s trailblazer that leads the innovation, production, and adaptation of electric vehicles for land, sea, and air transport as the future of Philippine transportation.
