Mapols Farm is an enjoyable way to experience the farm life in a rural community as well as a place to learn different methods to decorate a farm in creative and sustainable ways.

The recreational farm of Mapols Farm is a project of the couple Paul and Mai Perez. It was inspired by the lively atmosphere of Pototan which made it known as the Christmas Capital of the VIsayas. During the day time, Mapols Farm is a charming farm with scenic views and verdant surroundings. At night, the entire farm transforms and is lit by an arrangement of lights that give the farm a magical and fascinating look – one that’s worthy of being included in everyone’s Instagram feeds.

One of the most famous attractions of Mapols Farm are the Bali-inspired “pugads”, which are giant imitations of birds’ nests where people can have a picture with the scenic backgrounds for a small fee. The paths leading to every pugad are filled with various innovations and creative designs using recycled materials that sends a message to those passing by that it is possible. It also has rustic structures where people can take shade under during hot days.

Ely’s Kitchen

Of course, what better way to enjoy a farm than through our stomach. Inside the farm is Ely’s Kitchen, a restaurant that serves organically produced food using fresh ingredients. Visitors can grab a quick snack or they can order full hearty meals to recharge their bodies. The restaurant has the same rustic interiors with vintage decorations that gives the place a charming look. It is also one way to enjoy the sceneries of the farm and is definitely relaxing.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact location: Brgy. Bagacay, Pototan, Iloilo

BY COMMUTING: From Iloilo City, there are jeepneys you can ride that can take you to Tagbak Terminal. Ride any of those jeepneys. Upon arriving in Tagbak Terminal, ride another jeepney that will pass by Pototan. In Pototan, there are tricycles that can take you to Mapols Farm.

BY CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Mapols Farm” in Sogod. Parking space is available upon arrival.
