Have you ever wanted a private strip of beach all to yourself? A place of solace where you can be all alone with the sun, the sand, and the sea? If you are, the mesmerizing Mundong Sandbar is just for you!

Mundong sandbar, also known as Tubigon South sandbar, is one of Bohol’s best kept secrets. This line of sand in the northwest of Bohol is an isolated beach part of a bigger submerged island. The island is uninhabited and contains no plant and animal life, making it the perfect little space for some solace with the sea!

The virgin sandbar disappears during high tide, as the waters rise above the level of the sand. At this point the island is still accessible, but you won’t find any place to stay or settle down on. During this time, the waters are a comfortable chest level with uneven spots here and there, so it won’t be the safest stay for children and non-swimmers.

However, catching the island on low tide is worth it with the startingly clear water.

The water in this area is glass-like and clear as crystal. Because of how clean the water is, the bright color of the white sand strikes through the water easily. It’s a mesmerizing sight to be dipping or swimming while being perfectly able to see the bottom!
