Bukidnon has this raw beauty that only untouched nature can bring which makes it a prime destination for those nature lovers who wants to experience the elements at its roots.
Luckily, Bukidnon is slowly stepping up their game in travel with their new Bukidnon Airport located in Barangay Maraymaray, Don Carlos, Bukidnon.
The Bukidnon Airport Development Project has two runways that spans 1,260 meters and 390 meters with a budget of P1.816-billion.
It is one of the flagship projects of the government in Northern Mindanao and is expected to accommodate aircraft including the ATR-72 and Bombardier Q400.
It’s location in Barangay Maraymaray used to be the site of an airstrip that was used decades ago. It has a size a 149-hectare property and located about 7.3 kilometers away from the town’s highway.
The airport’s runway is expected to be finished in 2022 while its terminal would be completed in 2023. Bukidnon Airport is expected to also be operational in 2023 and due to be fully completed by 2026.
Photos of the Bukidnon Airport as of April 2022 were recently released showing that the long runway was already concreted as the airport’s first phase and supposedly including pipe conduits, box culverts and the construction of an apron for the north and south taxiways.
Bukidnon has a lot of tourist spots and adventures you can try, some of the most famous ones are:
- The impressive forest of Mount Dulang-Dulang
- The 870 ft high Mindamora Falls/Limunsudan Falls
- Grassy landscape of Panimahawa Ridge
Progress and development of a place truly starts at the airport which is why this new airport in Bukidnon will surely do wonders to the province.
