Chairman of Prime Aces Holdings Corporation (PAHC), Retired Major General Gilbert Llanto, has reportedly endorsed the governor’s proposal to maintain the P888 fare for now. Captain Jose Commendador, the Vice President for Operations at LEASCOR (Leading Edge Air Services Corporation), attended the meeting as well.
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia expressed her commitment to supporting the company’s operations. She is currently negotiating with fuel suppliers to secure lower prices for LEASCOR, aiming to keep travel affordable.
Before the inaugural flight on August 28, she had been in discussion with the operator to maintain the fare at P888. During her speech at the ceremony, she emphasized the economic benefits of maintaining this fare and highlighted a broader initiative to boost tourism and local economies.
PRICE REDUCTION
By reducing the original airfare significantly from P2,995 to P888, the provincial government agreed by reducing the jet fuel price from P74 to P62, aiming to make air travel more feasible for everyday citizens, which could lead to increased patronage and economic activity in Bantayan.
Overall, this initiative showcases a partnership between government and private sectors to foster community growth while ensuring essential services remain accessible to those in need.
