Hurot na imong data? Diri na sa Davao!
Davao City is setting up its first public internet center to provide free internet access for residents; planned to be opened by next year. Councilor Bonz Andre A Militar, who heads the Committee on Information and Technology, shared that the center is currently under review by the City Engineer’s Office and the budget is expected to cost at least P10 million. They aim to secure funding in next year’s budget to move the project forward.
Finally, it’s what every netizen’s dream; free internet. You don’t need to worry about finding and paying loads for data since government officials have already provided them for Davao. Do you notice how expensive the internet is these days?
This internet center, located in People’s Park, will be a two-story building with 66 computers. The ground floor will feature six units dedicated to persons with disabilities (PWDs), while the upper floor will have 60 units. For those unable to use a computer, free Wi-Fi will be available outside the building. To ensure fair access, computer usage will be limited to two-three hours per session. Give chances to others.
Residents must register through the Davao City Library and Information Center (DCLIC) to use the facility. This initiative also aims to address rising internet café costs and support the DCLIC, which often operates at full capacity.
