Sprung on Obong

Located in the municipality of Dalaguete, this eco-tourism site welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For just ₱10 for adults and ₱5 for kids, you can enjoy a whole day soaking in the crystal-clear, calm waters that remain refreshing even during the summer heat. Cottages are available for rent, with rates ranging from ₱100 to ₱300, depending on size, perfect for picnics and gatherings with family or friends. Wet and Wallet-Friendly

Obong Spring also carries with it a rich sense of place. According to local legend, the name Dalaguete was born when Spanish soldiers asked a local woman bathing near a massive tree for the name of the place. Mistaking the question, she answered “Dalakit,” the name of the tree, which the Spaniards then recorded as Dalaguete. One of the oldest Dalakit trees, believed to be nearly a hundred years old, still proudly stands near Obong Spring today, making it both a natural and a cultural landmark.

Spring Rooted in Lore

Unlike many commercial resorts, Obong Spring is a product of community initiative. The development of this peaceful haven was made possible through the efforts of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dalaguete and former town leaders who saw its potential as a sustainable eco-tourism site. Thoughtful yet straightforward developments, such as fencing, restrooms, and cottages, were added without disrupting the natural beauty of the area. Today, the spring is maintained by the Barangay Council of Obong, under the supervision of the Dalaguete Municipal Tourism Office, ensuring that the entrance fees are used for environmental upkeep, cleanliness, and support for community programs.
