Made for a beloved…

In this article, we are taking you on a virtual trip to the Temple of Leah. One of Cebu’s popular attractions and also known as the Taj Mahal of Cebu. This cultural attraction is a mausoleum for a love that will never end, even in the last decade.

Char kaayo noh? A man named Teodorico Soriano Adarna had the Temple of Leah built for his late wife, Leah Albino-Adarna for a marriage that lasted in five decades. Naa koy chika. These two are also the grandparents of Ellen Adarna, a famous actress.

History

The Temple of Leah is located in Barangay Busay and it started its construction in 2012. There are twenty-four different chambers in the complex; these contain a library, an art gallery, bar, and many more. You will also see statues of lions, angels, and gladiators as you explore the place. There are stone steps that lead to the portico and a 10-foot high statue of Leah near the lobby.

The temple’s architecture draws inspiration from ancient Roman or Greek styles, with imposing columns, intricate friezes, and ornate details. The use of marble and stone adds to its timeless elegance.
