Suyac Island is home to centuries old mangrove trees that includes the impressive Sonneratia alba which is locally known as “pagatpat.” Visitors can traverse bamboo boardwalks that wind through the lush forest providing an up close experience of this vital ecosystem. The mangroves serve as natural barriers protecting the community from the ravages of typhoons.
