To travel is to spread your life all over the world.
Camotes Islands will finally have its first ever airport built in San Francisco. The completion of the Domestic Airport is expected to boost tourism and provide jobs in the area. It won’t be difficult for the Camotes residents to find jobs anymore, nor go farther away from home to work. They can apply right there in the Camotes airport.
Representative Vincent Franco Frasco shared on social media that the runway is already done, and he believes this project will significantly benefit local residents by improving economic opportunities.
The project has a budget of over P385 million, covering both the runway and the terminal. Frasco had proposed the idea for the airport back in 2020, and it will serve small commercial planes that can carry around 70 to 80 passengers.
The funding is managed by the Department of Budget and Management, and is being utilized by the Department of Transportation, which is leading the project to establish Cebu’s third domestic airport. The airport will be located on a 27-hectare site owned by the provincial government of San Francisco.
This project seems to help the local economy and community by boosting tourism and creating jobs, while also improving connections. It’s a good sign for the future of the Camotes Islands!
